Studies have shown that stress drastically reduces the life and value of shipped lobsters, and that stress is induced each time a lobster is moved. Our packaging seeks to reduce or eliminate such stress during shipping.

Our specially manufactured packaging holds each live lobster vertically within a confined, individual compartment, mimicking the natural crevices of the ocean floor. Individual compartments reduce the lobsters' oxygen demand and keep the lobsters from poking and wounding each other. The packaging also holds the lobsters' moisture, and seeks to replicate the cold conditions of the natural ocean environment.

Highly impact-resistant cardboard surrounds your live lobster. The lobsters are much more lively when they arrive at their final destination, and mortality rates are extremely low. Damage to the lobsters is virtually eliminated.

Transportation difficulties, caused by bad weather or busy holiday shipping seasons, can occur. When transporting lobsters, time is of the essence. During initial trials in using our revolutionary packaging, one particular shipment was delayed in transport, resulting in a 60-hour delivery time. Typically, live lobster has less than a 48-hour window for liveliness out of the ocean. Much to everyone's relief, because of our packaging our Grand Manan Lobsters not only survived their lengthy shipment; they arrived feisty and healthful at their California destination.
